I Have my tv and xbox 360 up on our mantle. Will a Kinect Still work?

I am planning on getting a Kinect for my xbox 360. But i want to make sure that the kinect will work at the height my tv is set up. Our tv is over our fireplace on our mantle. The Tv is about Head height. If we get a kinect, will this effect how it works in any way?
